This is the first time that Audemars Piguet has used titanium metal with a palladium-based alloy material used in the field of microelectronics - bulk metallic glass. After rapid cooling, this palladium-based alloy material exhibits some of the properties of glass, including amorphousness and high strength, so it has wear and corrosion resistance properties. Due to the amorphous nature of this material, it reflects a unique light and shadow effect when polished by hand. The watch’s bezel, the outer edge of the sapphire crystal case back, and the strap fixing links are made of hand-polished block metal glass, which provides a sharp visual contrast to the titanium case and strap. The titanium case is interlaced with sandblasted and polished chamfers, the front of the strap is sandblasted, the back is satin-brushed, and the edges are polished and chamfered.
